London, 17th February 2025: NowPatient, a leading global online pharmacy and telehealth service, is excited to announce its new partnership with Lifelight, a pioneer in software-only blood pressure. Through this collaboration, NowPatient’s industry leading synchronous virtual care platform will integrate Lifelight’s clinically validated blood pressure technology to safely digitise treatment pathways that previously required in-person appointments.

Until now, many treatments could not be prescribed virtually due to the necessity of accurate blood pressure readings for safe prescribing. Lifelight’s software enables blood pressure estimates to be taken remotely—using only a smartphone. No wearable devices or cuffs are required, making this a truly innovative, frictionless solution for patients and clinicians alike.

“By integrating Lifelight into our virtual care platform, we’re revolutionising remote treatment by enabling clinicians to prescribe medications that would otherwise be restricted from remote prescribing,” said Rajive Patel, Product Lead at NowPatient. “This seamless integration enhances the user experience while giving our clinicians a more comprehensive view of a patient’s health, improving both decision-making and treatment outcomes. One of the biggest challenges in virtual healthcare has been the ability to safely assess vital signs like blood pressure. With Lifelight, we’re not only addressing this challenge but also expanding access to care and unlocking broader treatment options for our users.”

Lifelight is a fully validated CE Class I medical device. The technology is clinically proven to check blood pressure, heart rate and respiratory rate in less than a minute, simply by a patient looking at their smartphone. With this integration, Lifelight can provide patients blood pressure checking from the comfort of their homes.

Commenting on the partnership, Laurence Pearce, CEO and Founder of Lifelight said,

“Partnering with NowPatient is a natural fit for us. Our technology is designed to make blood pressure checking as simple and accessible as possible. Together, we’re removing long-standing barriers to virtual healthcare and bringing cutting-edge solutions to patients who need them most.”

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the evolution of telehealth. With millions of people globally struggling to access face-to-face healthcare services due to logistical, financial, or geographical challenges, this partnership empowers more patients to take control of their health while reducing strain on traditional healthcare systems.
